Our Livelihood Initiatives
At AMAN Foundation, we believe in empowering rural women to take charge of their economic futures. Through our livelihood programs, we equip women with the skills, resources, and support needed to transform small-scale livestock farming into sustainable and profitable enterprises.

Strengthening Livelihoods
(Partnership with The GOAT Trust)
In partnership with The GOAT Trust, we provide comprehensive training to rural women, enabling them to lead, manage, and scale small livestock-based businesses.
- Enhancing community processes and systems for rural entrepreneurs
- Transforming the small livestock value chain from subsistence to significance
- Facilitating access to financial and technical services

A Community-Led Approach
Our community-driven model places poor, ultra-poor, aged, women, and landless farmers at the center of economic transformation. By fostering cooperation and mutual support, we enable rural women to build collective businesses.

A Sustainable Value Chain
We work across the entire livestock value chain—from production and processing to trading and marketing—helping women farmers shift towards a financially viable model.
- Greater financial independence for women-led enterprises
- Improved service delivery by local women farmers
- Stronger market linkages and collective trading
Our Commitment
Through these initiatives, AMAN Foundation is committed to creating resilient rural economies, where women play a central role in shaping sustainable and dignified livelihoods.
Building Dignified, Sustainable Incomes in Flood-Prone Communities
At Aman Foundation, we believe sustainable livelihoods are the backbone of resilient communities. In the flood-prone regions of Assam, seasonal migration, unstable incomes, and climate shocks push families—especially women—into vulnerability. Our Rural Livelihoods Program focuses on climate-resilient, locally rooted income opportunities that strengthen household security and empower women as economic leaders.

Promoting Sugarcane Cultivation
We support sugarcane cultivation as a climate-resilient livelihood option for seasonal migrant and small farmers. Sugarcane's tolerance to short-term flooding makes it a reliable source of income. Women farmers are actively engaged in cultivation, management, and marketing—leading to income enhancement and reduced distress migration.

Scientific Goat Rearing
Through training, exposure visits, and continuous handholding, Aman Foundation promotes scientific goat rearing among women farmers. Improved practices in breed selection, feeding, housing, and health care help women build sustainable livestock-based incomes and financial independence.

Backyard Poultry
We support women-led backyard poultry by providing capacity building, access to improved breeds, and market linkages. This low-cost, high-impact livelihood ensures regular income, nutrition security, and greater control over household finances for women.
